The Ministry of Health of China has registered this Friday another 105 cases of coronavirus, of which 94 are of community transmission and only nine arrived from abroad.

The health authorities of the Asian country have specified that of those 105 local cases, the province of Heilongjiang has diagnosed 47 and that of Jilin, 19, while another 18 have been detected in Hebei, six more in Shanghai, another three in Beijing, and finally one more in Shanxi province.

Since December 2020, “epidemic clusters” have been detected in Beijing, and in Sichuan, Liaoning, Hebei and Heilongjiang provinces. The health authorities have confirmed a total of 88,804 accumulated cases and 4,635 deaths.

So far, China has recorded 4,572 imported COVID-19 cases –4,286 recovered. Of the last nine cases from abroad, four are from Canton Province, three from Shanghai, and two more spread between Anhui and Fujian provinces.

The total number of recovered amounts to 82,495, after 27 on the last day, although there are still 1,674 cases under medical observation, including 80 in serious condition.

The Ministry of Health also reported this week that more than 15 million people had already received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The goal, noted the Chinese authorities, is to vaccinate 50 million citizens before the Lunar New Year holidays, which begin on February 12.

Those responsible for the Ministry have detailed that in this first phase of vaccination, immigration personnel, national and international transport workers, as well as essential workers of the public service network have priority.

For its part, Hong Kong, immersed in its fourth wave of coronavirus, has confirmed a total of 9,867 accumulated cases –8,904 recovered – and 167 deaths, one more than the day before.

In the last 24 hours, 70 new cases have been confirmed, 63 of them located in the densely populated Yau Tsim Mong district, where the authorities have been conducting massive screening in recent weeks. The remaining seven cases are imported.
