A private jet crashed while trying to take off in Texas on Tuesday, with all 21 passengers and crew on board racing to safety before the plane burst into flames.
The crew ran to safety before the aircraft burst into flames.
Television footage showed firefighters spraying water on the burning wreckage of the plane, which had crossed a fence and stopped on a runway in a field, surrounded by trees and bushes.
The fuselage was reduced to ash , and only the tail section survived as black smoke billowed from the wreckage.
“Fortunately, it was reported that all 21 passengers, including three crew members, were safely evacuated from this twin-engine aircraft before it was completely engulfed in flames ,” the Katy Fire Department said in a statement.

The McDonnell Douglas MD-87 plane was taking off from Houston Executive Airport , Brookshire, bound for Boston when it crashed, authorities said.
The plane was to carry a group of people who traveled to watch a playoff baseball game between the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night .
KHOU News from Houston reported that the plane’s owner, James Alan Kent , was on board during the unfortunate trip.
Tim Gibson, director of Waller Harris County emergency services, said the passengers and crew “were stunned, they were very, very stunned, but they were able to save themselves.”
“ We are always expecting the worst, but we hope for the best; today we absolutely positively obtained the best result we can hope for in this incident , “Gibson said at a press conference.

Fire crews put out the fire ” after a substantial effort ” to control the burning of jet fuel.
Authorities said one passenger was a 10-year-old boy and two people were taken in for treatment for minor injuries , including back pain, after the accident.
” The plane did not reach altitude at the end of the runway and crossed Morton Road, stopping in the field north of the airport, where it caught fire ,” Waller County Judge Trey Duhon said on Facebook.
