12-year-old graduates from high school and college in just one week

Mike Wimmer, a 12-year-old from North Carolina (USA), knew how to take advantage of confinement by COVID-19 and became an example of passion for the study.

Despite his young age and in just one week, the teenager managed to graduate from the high school and college.

Speaking to local media, Mike said that on May 28 he graduated from the Concord Academy High School Institute and 7 days before he did so from the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College University.

The amazing thing is that Mike completed four academic courses in one year: two high school and two college. For this reason, he obtained his university graduation after completing a community college, a type of education that lasts two years and that provides access to a degree.

“I didn’t have to travel to school, so that really gave me more time to choose extra classes… It was like, well, we’re sitting here with nothing to do right? Then it would be better to take some additional classes and get them out of the way”, the youngest told the American program TODAY.

Wimmer added that he has always been an advanced student; In addition, in December of last year he finished graduation requirements for his high school. Following this, he indicated that he focused on college assignments during the spring semester.

“I actually went to a little summer camp when I was very young and my mom picked me up the first day and they were like, do you know he can write his full name and do multiplication tables?” Wimmer recalled.

Difficulties

Despite Wimmer’s outstanding academic performance, there were some situations that made his learning path difficult. The minor said that while he was growing up, it was sometimes difficult to access the classes he wanted to take because they did not take him seriously.

“There are a lot of people who when they see my age, they say, ‘well, you won’t be able to handle the curriculum’, or ‘it’s too rigorous for you’, that kind of thing”, “So really, just gaining credibility and finding educators who want to nurture my skills was the hardest part,” he commented.

Wimmer has devoted his spare time to amazing extracurricular activities, which helped him found his technology company Next Era Innovations when he was only 7 years old.

“I am having the best time of my life doing everything, either with my studies and my business and also in continuing to be a child”, indicated to the aforementioned program.

Wimmer, from Twitter and through constant interviews, has been clear with his message of encouragement for all infants. “When a door closes, there is always another door, even a window where you can sneak in”, he culminated.
