A mass shooting outside a concert in a northwestern part of Miami-Dade County left at least two dead and 20 injured, the Miami-Dade police chief confirmed.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of the El Mula Banquet Hall at 7630 NW 186th Street in Hialeah, in the Country Club Shopping Center.
The shooting occurred around 12:30 am when a concert that had been held at the place was ending. According to the report, the people who executed the shots with rifles and small arms were outside the premises when they began to shoot at the crowd.
The subjects’ van, a white Nissan Pathfinder, approached the front of the business, three subjects got out of the vehicle and began firing indiscriminately at the crowd. The subjects entered the truck and fled the scene, according to the police report.
Miami-Dade Police Department Director Freddy Ramirez said up to 25 people were taken to hospitals in Miami-Dade and Broward counties and the shooting took place outside the club after it was rented out for a concert.
“I am at the scene of another cowardly and selective act of gun violence, where more than 20 victims were shot and 2 sadly died,” said Miami-Dade Police Chief Alfredo “Freddy” Ramirez.
“These are cold-blooded killers who fired indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice. My condolences to the family of the victims, “he added.
The injured were taken to hospitals in Miami-Dade and Broward. There is no report of detainees so far.
