Madrid – The assets managed by the pension plans of the individual system increased last year by 6,453 million euros, 8.34% more than in 2020, up to 83,873 million, according to data from the consulting firm Vdos .

This firm has indicated that the increase in assets “is mainly motivated by the positive performance of the portfolios worth 5,932 million, to which we must add net deposits of 520 million.”

By type of entity, credit cooperatives have registered the largest net deposits (difference between reimbursements and contributions), with 203 million, followed by insurance companies and international groups, with 169 and 102 million, respectively.

Banks maintain their majority market share position with 79.75% of managed assets, followed by independent and international groups with 6.48 and 4.81% respectively.

CaixaBank (MC: CABK ) topped the list of financial institutions by assets under management, with €26,349 million and a share of 31.42%, followed by BBVA (MC: BBVA ), with €15,399 million and a share of 18.36%. while Banco Santander (MC: SAN ) had a 13.22% share of this business.

Regarding the evolution of profitability, the plans of the VDOS category of International Variable Income (RVI) USA have occupied the first place with an average revaluation of 32.32%, followed by those of global RVI with 23.15%. . By contrast, long-term euro fixed income plans returned a negative return of 1.63%.
