No one won Wednesday’s drawing of about $700 million Powerball lottery, so the grand prize would increase to about $800 million for the next drawing.
The winning numbers were: 19-36-37-46-56-24.
No one has matched all six numbers and won the Powerball prize since August 3, so the price has grown to the fifth largest in US history. That is 36 consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner. The next draw will be on Saturday.
The lack of winners reflects the slim odds of winning the jackpot, which are one in 292.2 million.
The new $800 million jackpot is for winners who receive their winnings through an annual fee paid over 29 years. Almost all winners choose the option to receive their prize in cash, which would be $383.7 million after taxes.
The largest lottery jackpot to date was the $1.582 million Powerball prize won by three winners in 2016.
Powerball is played in 45 states, as well as Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
