Orlando Florida. – Orange County’s Tenant Rights Ordinance went into effect Wednesday after being passed in January, marking a victory for tenants.

The measure establishes, among other things, an office where occupants can go to clarify their doubts and lodge a complaint against the owner in order to protect their rights.

In addition, holders of contracts that renew monthly or every three months must be notified at least 60 days in advance of a rent increase if it is greater than 5%.

Likewise, it ensures that people cannot be discriminated against for their method of payment as long as it is legal or for having been victims of domestic violence. It also requires landlords to provide you with a complete list of the fees they will charge and to give 60 days notice if they plan to increase the rental price.
