When Lola loses the babies she was expecting, she also loses her faith in God. Hoping to get her back, she and her husband Adolfo go to a convent where they meet Tin and Tina, two seven-year-old angelic brothers to whom Lola feels strangely drawn. Although Adolfo doesn’t feel the same way, they decide to adopt them. Over time, Lola begins to fall into a spiral of suspicion and obsession with children and their macabre religious games.
