More than four dozen Los Angeles Fire Department ground crews systematically searched through heavy fog at ground level for a missing aircraft in the Beverly Crest area.
The LAFD searched rough terrain north of Mulholland Drive in an area near Beverly Glen Terrace and Beverly Glen Boulevard where a missing aircraft’s distress beacon was observed, according to the department.
A pair of LAFD helicopters sought to provide command support in the hazy skies.
Federal Aviation Association air traffic controllers at Van Nuys Airport, Burbank Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, as well as the United States Air Force and the The pilot’s cellphone operator participated in the attempt to locate the missing aircraft, according to LAFD.
