NEW YORK — A carbon monoxide leak inside a Long Island home has sent nearly a dozen people to the hospital, including four children, county officials say.
The incident took place in a house of Prairie East Monday evening. The fire department responded to a 9-1-1 call after carbon monoxide detectors went off inside and people inside began to feel unwell.
Six adults and four children were taken by ambulance, authorities said. They are all expected to recover.
The origin of the carbon monoxide leak is under investigation.
