Lewis Capaldi canceled its concerts in Madrid and Barcelona.

The Scottish artist’s followers received the bad news shortly before the start of his show at the Palau San Jordi on Friday, March 10 with a statement from Live Nation, the singer’s official ticket outlet.

“We regret to inform you that for medical reasons, Lewis Capaldi he is forced to cancel his concerts in Barcelona and Madrid this weekend,” they said on their Twitter profile.

Likewise, the Wizik Center in Madrid, where the second concert in Spanish territory was to be held, marked the event on its website as canceled, citing medical reasons.

The singer also sent a message to all his European followers, since Madrid and Barcelona were not the only cities affected and he will have to postpone the next dates of the European continent.

“Hello everyone, I’m Lewis Capaldi, I’m so upset to have to make this video and I’m so sorry, but unfortunately I have to move the next shows of my tour of Europe, which includes Barcelona tonight, Madrid tomorrow and Munich next week”, began by nervously explaining the singer.

I have bronchitis, it was after I lost my voice on stage in Stockholm and they sent me home to Glasgow (…) They sent me medicine to cure my bronchitis, I felt a little better and I thought I was going to be able to do it. I’m here behind the scenes in Barcelona and during the sound check my voice died out and unfortunately to avoid any damage I spoke to a doctor here and I’m going to have to take a week off“said the touched artist.

The artist ended the video by apologizing a few more times and telling his fans that he would like them to know and hope to see them soon, that he is truly sorry about the situation.

The fans, very angry

Some fans, very angry at the cancellations, They were pissed off by social media for what happened and reproached him for having waited so little to confirm the cancellation of the concert.

The singer tried to justify his situation to avoid bad feelings with his followers.

“I woke up this morning and thought I could get through tonight so I won’t let anyone down, and I assure you that the worst thing i could have done for my health and my conscience is not to rest and get on a plane here. For obvious reasons, I didn’t try to sing for an hour this morning,” Capaldi replied.

However, other fans have been much more understanding, understanding that health issues are something that does not prevent and should not be the responsibility of him.

“As someone who was already in the queue when Live Nation reported the situation, I can say that we completely understand your point of view and we believe your health is above all showwe love you and we really appreciate you taking the time to come meet and take pictures with us,” one fan gushed.
