A series of new information has emerged that is quite relevant to the future of the franchise.
We will all agree that the purchase of ActivisionBlizzard by Microsoft has generated enormous uncertainty within the video game industry. So much so that various government agencies in different countries have been forced to lodge a complaint around the acquisition, which slowed down the process somewhat. And this is, among other things, one of the main reasons why the purchase is so dizzying in general that it has to do with the Call of Duty franchise.
Whereas it’s not at all clear what will happen with Call of Duty when Activision becomes part of Microsoft (although it made the odd move to franchise expanding to other platforms in the future), it is normal for PlayStation to be very concerned about it. But It is that new information has appeared regarding the latter that you cannot miss. I leave you with all the details below.
Will there be more Call of Duty on PlayStation from 2024?
- Like colleagues from CharlieIntelBrad Smith (one of Microsoft’s top brass) commented that, under the current deal, 2024’s Call of Duty would be the last to release on PlayStation
- The latter could change if Sony agrees negotiate with Xbox in the future for a new deal, but at the moment there is nothing consistent
- On another side, was leaked via Insider-Gaming What the new opus of 2024 receives the code name of Cerberus
- Moreover, it would be under development also for the previous generation of consoles, so it would still be released on PS4 and PS5
