Are we Spaniards more rude than the rest of Europeans? Or better not to generalize?

I confess to you, I think it will take me a long time to return to the cinema, at least outside of the press sessions that I have to attend for work. I just wanted to enjoy Hell’s Takeover: Awakening on the big screen. enjoy the scenes blood and the jump scares as he deserves But it’s increasingly clear to me that The Spaniards are very rude in the cinema, with inadmissible behavior and gestures that would mean immediate expulsion from the theater in other countries. Why the hell don’t you take advantage of the 8, 9 or 10 euros that you pay per ticket so as not to bother the rest, and incidentally, to learn how to have fun with the film you are watching?

Gestures considered rude in the cinema

Speak loudly during the movie

The main reason why I am writing this article-complaint is precisely because in yesterday’s broadcast of Infernal Possession: Awakening in my nearest cinema there was hardly any silence during the whole movie. It’s a horror film, I understand that, and I confess to the screams and noises due to the fear caused by some of its sequences, but I don’t need to hear how you discuss with your friends the last dismemberment. Don’t even laugh at the nonsense that doesn’t come to mind.

Use a cell phone

Do they call you? Get up and leave the room, but don’t end the call and open WhatsApp without covering yourself with a jacket, because the brightness of your mobile phone is very inconvenient. Over the years, this is one of the most common problems.

make annoying noises

I understand that it is customary to eat popcorn and a soda while watching a movie at the cinema, although I rarely do so as it seems disappointing to me. And it is because these situations produce very annoying noises such as the squeaking of bags, the constant opening and closing of sweets… Well, and it’s not a noise, but It’s pretty disgusting to watch a movie that smells like Burger King, if I may…

Do you see how annoying moving light is in the movies?

Place your feet on the seats or on the armrest of the front seat

It also happened to me yesterday at the cinema: used to being in empty rooms, I had never realized that there are many spectators who lift their legs and put them in the front seat, not caring if there is a person under their shoes. I’m not talking about germs, viruses or bacteria: it’s very disgusting to smell your feet, dear mate.

Arriving late and disturbing spectators who are already seated

Most rooms have a 10-15 minute block of announcements and commercials. Even so, there are a lot of people who are latewith the film already started, allowing the entry of light from the outside with doors that open and close. Can’t we do it in our fucking time?

eat at the cinema
Eating at the cinema, in addition to being annoying, distracts you from the film

Are we Spaniards more rude than the rest of Europeans?

I don’t like to generalize, but I believe that the Spaniards, culturally, are very different from the rest of the Europeans. It is more than obvious, and it has been discussed in many cases.

It is not fair to generalize and say that the Spaniards are ruder than the rest of the Europeans. Education is a complex and culturally dependent subject, and how people behave in different situations can vary greatly depending on the cultural, social and historical context. But at the cinema, yesterday, I discovered that we are people who like to socialize even in a dark room like the cinema.

I would like to end this text by asking all readers to, If you do some of the gestures described here, try to reduce them as much as possible. Not just to stop bothering those of us who want to enjoy the movie at the cinema. So it’s up to you to do it and find out why going to the cinema is still a valid activity, and irreplaceable on streaming platforms. streaming.
