This Monday a shooting was reported at the Central High School for Visual and Performing Arts in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, where a woman and a teenager were killed and 7 other people were injured.

Lt. Col. Michael Sack, acting commissioner of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, told local media that the suspect has not been identified so far.

Local media assure that the 20-year-old shooter would have lost his life during the attack, while he was on his way to the hospital, however, there is no official statement.

“Here is a safe place where children are going to grow, learn, develop and something like this happens, it is heartbreaking,” said the lieutenant colonel.

The attack occurred at approximately 9:00 AM (local time) on Monday and the institution was immediately surrounded by dozens of patrols.

US House Representative from Missouri Cori Bush urged victims and family members to contact her office for resources.

A young woman who was at the scene, identified as Isabella Alamo, 16, told local media that she saw a person at the bottom of the stairs as she tried to leave the building.

“She tried to get people out faster so they didn’t have to see the blood,” the teen said.

Another survivor of the attack, 16-year-old Taniya Gholston, said “the shooter’s gun jammed” giving him time to escape.
