Police have filed a sexual assault complaint involving actor Armie Hammer with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, a source familiar with the investigation told NBC News.
“I can confirm that the LAPD has filed a complaint regarding Armie Hammer with LADA. The case is currently under review,” District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Tiffiny Blacknell said in a statement that did not elaborate or confirm why Hammer was under review.
A source close to the investigation told NBC News on Monday that the LAPD sent the findings stemming from the sexual assault allegations made in 2021.
It was not immediately clear why it took more than two years for the district attorney’s office to receive the case.
Detectives from the LAPD West Bureau’s Sexual Assault Unit conducted the investigation, the source said.
A lawyer for the 36-year-old actor declined to comment on Monday, but previously said Hammer was the victim of “scandalous allegations.”
