NEW YORK – Police are searching for a man they believe pushed a 36-year-old passenger off the side of a moving subway at a Brooklyn train station in broad daylight over the weekend, leaving him bleeding from the head in a flank is attacking, authorities say.
The 36-year-old victim was standing on the northbound R line platform at 59th street shortly after 4:00 p.m. Sunday when, according to the NYPD, an unknown person approached and pushed him onto a northbound R train as it was moving. The victim collided with the train and then fell onto the platform. He never fell off the tracks, authorities say, but suffered multiple cuts.
He was also bleeding from the head. The suspect fled while the victim was taken to hospital for treatment. We expect him to be fine. The uniformed woman says no words were exchanged between the two before the attack.
Authorities have released surveillance footage of the suspect (above).
