A shooting at one of the on-ramps to the Palmetto Freeway in Doral left one person seriously injured early Thursday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. when a white BMW pickup truck and a silver car were traveling on the on-ramp to Highway 826 (Palmetto) from the 36th Street in Doral.
The silver vehicle came to a stop next to the driver of the BMW when an occupant of the silver vehicle began firing a gun, FHP said.
According to the report, the driver of the BMW truck, the only occupant of this car, was shot several times. The man was airlifted to Kendall Regional Trauma Center with serious injuries.
FHP said the silver vehicle fled with its occupants. They ask anyone with information to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at *FHP (*347).
