This week is pretty quiet in all things A playsince the manga is in one of its scheduled shutdowns and won’t be back until next week. For its part, the anime continues to slowly but surely narrate the events of the Onigashima war. So why is Zoro’s name trending on social media?

Well, it’s basically due to the One Piece SBS 105 first leaks, a special section that is included in new volumes of the manga in which Eiichiro Oda (the author) answers various fan questions. And it seems that one of those problems revolves around zoro’s family. Many people have been thinking about this for years, for this reason the mangaka has decided to put an end to it by revealing the Official Swordsman Family Tree.

Confirmed: Zoro has samurai blood

  • As can be seen in the concept map shared by Oda (which was translated by new world artur), Zoro has blood ties with the Wa country.
  • A fan theory finally becomes canon: Zoro is a descendant of Shimotsuki Ryoma!
  • It turns out that 55 years ago a group of 25 people left Hereand only 10 of them reached the East Blue and ended up creating what later became known as Aldea Shimotsuki
  • Among these ten individuals, the presence of Furiko Shimotsuki (Ushimaru’s older sister, the samurai held captive with Yamato in Onigashima)
  • This girl was paired with Pinzoro Roronaa swordsman from said city, and together they fathered a boy named Arashi Roronoa
  • Arashi Roronoa had a son with Earththe daughter of a gang of bandits, and the name they gave her little one was Zoro Roronoa
  • And why did Zoro become an orphan?: Well, because his father died fighting pirates and because his mother died of an illness

And what about Kuina?

Funnily enough, this official family tree just sparked more theories among One Piece fans. If of the 25 people who left Wano only 10 settled in East Blue, does that mean the other 15 went to another island?

To be like this could explain the fact that Tashigi looks so much like Kuina. The navy swordsman could be a descendant of these samurai and be related to Zoro’s deceased friend, that is, could be a shimotsuki. Anyway, that’s just speculation.
