The beautiful weather this weekend only required one thing: music. Madrid wanted to dance, and Marlena knew how to deliver. Carolina Moyano and Ana Legazpi have just released their first EP and are already on tour in Spain with their ‘1000 First Times’ tour. The show arrived in the capital on Friday night and drew a full house at Sala Mon.

At 9:00 p.m., the lights went out without any prompting, and the play of colors seemed to signal the start of the iconic night. True to their urban style and with their families in the stands, the Marlenas were ready to perform. They started with a remix of songs, including Justin Bieber’s “Baby” and Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” signaling what was to come. “Good evening, Madrid. My God, there are so many people here,” Ana’s powerful voice boomed, and then they played “Curiosity’s Date” before an audience that knew the lyrics from start to finish.

A limitless remix of songs

“There are songs that remind you of someone when you listen to them,” Carolina said while punctuating the melodies with her guitar. This is how “How Beautiful You Are” began to play. After this huge success, a girl took the stage with Ana, and together, they gave a heart-warming performance that gave goosebumps to the audience.

The time had come for one of the most anticipated songs of the night, “Gypsy,” which awakened the inner gypsy in all of us. As they had anticipated at the beginning of the concert, they were going to play songs that had marked their career as the iron sergeant of Morgan.

The Marlenas were back and it was time to show off their wildest side with “The Girl.” When the audience was still recovering from this moment, “Limited Company” began to play. “It’s incredible. Who would have thought…”, the exhausted artist exclaimed. She took a breath and with it, her audience, and then she started playing “Crystal Doll” and “A Summer Without You.”

There was no doubt that Madrid had given Carolina and Ana the warmth they needed. Nil Moliner was not there, but Walls accompanied them. After that, Ana wanted to dedicate a song to her parents that she had been listening to in the car since she was little. The title of the song says it all: “Without You, I Am Nothing” by Amaral.

Then it was time to play “Nothing to Say” and “It Tastes Bad,” where they wanted to get closer to the public and sing with them. “Did you think we were going to leave without our dance? It doesn’t matter if you’re blonde or brunette…”, and yes, that was it, the brunette was dancing because the show was over.
