A man has died after being found shot dead in Miami on Sunday morning, authorities have confirmed.
According to the Miami Police Department, officers responded to the Northwest 16th Avenue and 60th Street area shortly after 5:30 a.m. after receiving a shooting alert on the ShotSpotter system.
Upon arrival, officers located a man with a gunshot wound and Miami Fire Department officers treated him at the scene and transported him to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Police later confirmed the man died from his injuries, but the person’s identity has yet to be released.
Police did not release any further information about the events leading up to the shooting, but said homicide detectives were actively investigating what happened.
