The man was charged with lewd behavior with a girl. The victim is a 12-year-old girl and the accused, a 67-year-old man.
The alleged sexual harassment allegedly occurred inside a supermarket located at 5299 Northeast with Second Avenue.
The minor told Miami Police Department officers that this man harassed her when he approached her from behind, grabbed her by the hair, blew her a kiss and said in Spanish “Mom, come here”.
Then the miner burst into tears. In the supermarket was the girl’s mother who, realizing what had happened, called the police.
The man, who was immediately captured, is called Alberto García and, according to the arrest report, he denied what happened. He said he only tried to say hello and instead of 12 he thought she was 20.
Garcia now faces charges of lewd conduct with a child under 16 and could post bail in excess of $7,000.
In addition to a physical and virtual injunction with the minor, this man will not be able to return to the supermarket where the facts occurred.
