And it is that Saint Patrick has a special color and Ireland recognizes it every March 17 turning its streets into an absolute green tide full of energy that this 2023 intends to reach Spain through that country’s embassy in Madrid, which, like the Irish beer brand Guinness, has organized various activities in the Spanish capital in an attempt to infect Madridistas with the energy of St. Patrick’s Day.
So if you’re one of those people who paints a green shamrock on your face every March 17th, put on one of those signature gigantic black and green hats and hit the streets ready or willing to seek out an Irish bar where you can clink glasses with beer, be careful, because here We bring you a list of activities you can do this weekend in Madrid as part of San Patricio 2023.
1. If you travel by metro, you can go through San Patricio
One of the initiatives of the Irish Embassy in Spain adopted this 2023 by changing the name of the San Bernardo metro station to San Bernardo – San Patricio; a compound that can already be seen in this central station and that has arrived accompanied by the emblematic green color with which it is linked to San Patricio.
In addition, at the station there will be musical performances, dance performances, literary events and a photographic exhibition.
2. There will be a dance performance at the Galileo Galilei
Irish dance group Irish Treble will perform their show Celtic Journey at the Galileo Galilei Room on March 19 at 8:30 p.m.
3. The 9th St. Patrick’s Day Picnic will be held
The Spanish Irish Business Networkk and the Madrid Harps GAA team are organizing the 9th San Patricio Picnic on Sunday March 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the La Cabilda leisure area of the municipality of Hoy de Manzanares.

4. The first San Patricio bagpipe parade will take place in Madrid
On Saturday, March 18, 2023, Madrid will host what will be Madrid’s first St. Patrick’s Day Bagpipe Parade thanks to the Fundación de Bandas de Gaitas del Principado de Asturias, who managed to bring in 15 bagpipe bands from across the country. Spain visits from 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon the route that goes from Ciudad Rodrigo street to the Royal Palace.

5. Concert at the Monumental Theater in Madrid
Another plan to do in Madrid to celebrate San Patricio 2023 is to go to the Teatro Monumental de Madrid to see the concert that the folk group The Green Tones will offer with the RTVE orchestra on Friday March 17 at 10:00 p.m.
6. Pubs join the party
