Seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton received the knighthood from the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle on Wednesday for his stellar career and contributions to motorsport.
Hamilton’s appointment came just days after the Briton was on the verge of winning his eighth title after a dramatic showdown with Max Verstappen at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The 36-year-old is the fourth F1 driver to be knighted, following in the footsteps of Jack Brabham, Stirling Moss and Jackie Stewart.
Lewis Hamilton, however, is the first to receive the honor as he continues to compete.
