March 2 isn’t always a special day, unless it’s your birthday. However, this March 2 is basically because it involves the return of the anime from “Kimetsu no Yaiba“with what is called”Kimetsu no Yaiba: direction the village of blacksmiths“. This feature film which debuted a few weeks ago in Japan to great acclaim arrives in our country with a mission: to allow us to rewatch the spectacular finale of season 2 and to reconnect with the start of season 3.

If you’re in doubt about whether to go see Kimetsu no Yaiba: Towards the Blacksmith Village, I’ll help you out

Yo I approached one of the first sessions that have been made and I can tell you the following, in case you have any doubts as to whether or not it is worth paying for a ticket:

  • To start with what seems to me the most important in terms of content: What is the distribution of the film?
    • The film is divided into a first part which includes the last two episodes of season 2 by Kimetsu no Yaiba.
    • The second part of the film includes the first episode of what will be season 3 of the anime, the Village of Blacksmiths. This episode is around 40 minutes long, although it was originally advertised as 60 (likely due to commercial cuts in Japan).
  • Why is it a good idea to see it in the cinema? First, because seeing the final battle of season 2 in theater conditions, and with an image quality like the one that was brought for the occasion, it is simply spectacular.
  • Second, I can say that everything presented in season 3, despite being the beginning of it, is VERY interesting. Without wanting to spoil, manga readers will be able to enjoy THIS encounter that many would have liked to see in season 2 of the anime.
  • On the other hand, it must be said that obviously the film has its downside, although much more pronounced than I thought. The content that is introduced from the second season is not changed at all. That is, you will find up to openings and ends, and even this mini pause of a few seconds in the middle of the episode. In essence, it is a ‘cut and paste’ that could at least have enjoyed being broadcast without interruption or repetition scenes you literally saw seconds ago.

To be completely honest about the movie, and especially if you’ve already seen the Season 2 finale, the reality is that this one does little more than kill time. The feels are quite different compared to the premiere of ‘Infinite Train’, which at the time we had no idea was going to be adapted into an episodic anime later on. However, in this case, we know that “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Season 3 premieres on April 9 and opens with the same 40-minute special that can be seen in the movie. Conclusion: if you have already seen all of season 2, the film can be overwhelming even with the spectacular battle against the Upper Moons 6. If not, you will surely enjoy it very much.
