MIAMI.- A tornado warning for the Broward areas was issued this afternoon by the National Weather Service and will remain in effect until 1:15 p.m.
Areas affected are Hollywood and Dania Beach.
At 12:44 p.m., a waterspout was reported near the east coast in the Dania Beach area, or near Hollywood, and was slowly moving inshore.
Forecasts called for Southeast Florida to have a Friday with mostly dry conditions and warm temperatures and by midday only isolated showers were recorded in the Broward areas.
In the morning, low temperatures were in the low to mid 70°F range, while in the afternoon they are expected to reach 85°F in parts of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.
Conditions will be generally dry, but some isolated showers are not ruled out inland in the three main southeastern counties.
Stable conditions remain over the weekend where we will only see between 20-30% chance of rain.
If you’re going to the beach, remember to protect yourself from the sun and watch out for rip current alerts, which are currently a moderate risk.
