After two years of suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic, tomorrowland It returns in 2022 with the biggest poster in its history. A circumstance that will repeat itself 365 days later. And with a protagonist of luxury that we are privileged to have with us as a partner: Abel Ramos.

The DJ will be at the biggest electronic music festival in Europe to deliver a spectacular session in front of thousands of people. For all the secret details of this DJ, his feelings and emotions and what it means to be at an event like this, we wanted to talk to him in an interview you can’t miss:

LOS40: It’s a pleasure to welcome you, Abel. How’s it going? I imagine euphoric with the news of the return to Tomorrowland

Abel Ramos: The pleasure is mine. The truth is that I must confess that I am as euphoric as I am nervous. For me, after so many years in the business, being able to be at a festival like Tomorrowland is something incredible. When you go to a festival like this for the first time, the feeling you get is like nothing. When you go there a second time, you think you’ll never come back, because there are a lot of DJs in the world and most of them are awesome. Imagine if you are lucky enough to go there three times.

When you start in music as a hobby or as a passion and little by little you realize that it’s going to be your job, do you dream of days like Tomorrowland?

In my case, the music was an accident. Simply, life led me there. Of course, when you realize it’s going to be your ultimate job, you dream of events like Tomorrowland.

How do you prepare for an event of this magnitude?

I don’t have a set ritual, I just try to enjoy the moment.

Right now I just launched two productions and I have another one ready for next month. I guess by then I’ll be preparing a song to premiere at Tomorrowland. This is the best place to do it.

What are you going to bring to the set apart from the obvious? A curiosity that will not be seen? A favorite object?

I don’t like preparing the sets, it’s something I’ve never done, but the two previous times I did the same thing. I went out to have fun as if I was one more participant in the event, then I went inside the festival to see all the technique and the production, because it is something that I am passionate about, learn from a great festival. I don’t have any fetish items either. What I usually do is wear new clothes for the first time, cool sneakers or something.

What are you expecting these days?

After so many years of pandemic, and even though last summer was amazing and I played in amazing places, I have to go to Tomorrowland to check that everything is back to normal.

I read that the session will be joint with Brian Cross. What do you like the most in these 4 hands sessions?

Normally I like to play solo, but I must admit that I’m delighted to be able to play with the one I consider a brother. I think it will bring a lot of charisma and dynamism to the session and I’m one hundred percent sure we’re going to have a great time.

Have you decided on the music you are going to play? Can you tell us something?

As I’ve already told you, I don’t like preparing sets. What I usually do is prepare mashups in the studio that only I have, with which the session takes on an exclusive character.

Many DJs and producers take advantage of special appointments like this to push new material forward and test it with the public. Do you have something like this in mind?

Right now I just launched two productions and I have another one ready for next month. I guess by then I’ll be preparing a song to premiere at Tomorrowland. This is the best place to do it.

Apart from DJing and catering for your fans, what would you like to see from Tomorrowland 2023?

There’s a DJ that I really like lately. It’s James Hype. Surely if we meet on the weekend, I will come and see him.

After a few years of absence due to the pandemic, the festival returned last year with the biggest line-up in its history. Something they repeat in this edition. How does it feel to be part of it?

It’s something incredible after so many years in the business and you say to yourself: “Wow! I am here! I did my job well!¨

Do you think that the public now experiences the music in a more intense way, aware of the two years we have spent?

In my opinion, the public experiences everything more intensely now: the day, the night, the journeys, the experiences, the desire to live… Without a doubt, Tomorrowland brings all of this together.
