A man died after jumping from a bridge on the 10 freeway in downtown Los Angeles, the fire department (LAFD) reported.
The incident was reported Monday at 1:45 p.m. after the person fell from the transition from the Hollywood Freeway (101) east/south to the San Bernardino Freeway (10) east.
The investigation into the incident has resulted in heavy traffic throughout downtown Los Angeles, which connects to several of the city’s major freeways.
“The traffic is due to the investigation into a death that occurred just below the Cesar Chávez Avenue overpass,” said Eliana Moreno, who was reporting from the Telemundo 52 helicopter.
“California Highway Patrol said it’s unclear when (the highway) will reopen,” Moreno added.
The man, who was not identified by authorities, was pronounced dead at the scene.
