LYON COUNTY, Nevada – Five people died when the fixed-wing plane they were traveling in crashed near Stagecoach, Nevada, spokespersons for Care Flight, the company that owns the plane, confirmed.

The plane, part of the Care Flight fleet, a REMSA Health service, was carrying a patient and accompanying family member, as well as the pilot, a flight attendant and a paramedic at the time of the crash. .

According to the first report, Utah-based Care Flight and Guardian Flight confirmed that the PC 12 fixed-wing aircraft, tail number N273SM, left radar on Friday, February 24 at approximately 9:45 p.m.

“We are heartbroken to report that we have now received confirmation from Lyon city center firefighters that none of the five people on board survived,” the company said in a statement.

“We are in the process of notifying their families,” he added, “our immediate goal is to assist our team members and their families, as well as response agencies.”

The Central Lyon Fire Department and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department are coordinating with the National Transportation Safety Board to determine the cause of the accident which is under investigation.
