A fire damaged a three-story apartment building under construction in North Hollywood on Tuesday morning, but no one was injured.

Firefighters dispatched to the 11400 block of West Cumpston Street around 5:45 a.m. extinguished the flames within 47 minutes, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).

Firefighters worked defensively and kept the flames from spreading to other structures, the LAFD reported.

Some firefighters remained on site, working to extinguish hot spots. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
