Some businesses were evacuated and the LAPD bomb squad was called in to investigate an explosion in Sherman Oaks Thursday night.
The blast happened around 7:30 p.m., prompting evacuations and street closures.
Cement debris covered the sidewalk where the explosion occurred.
LAPD was able to obtain surveillance video showing a man appearing to place a device on a cinder block.
Some cars were damaged but no one was injured.
Police are looking for the man in the video, but have no description at this time.
