Tesla’s infotainment system (or interactive panel) will soon receive the game Sonic the Hedgehog (1991), a fact recently confirmed by the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, in a Twitter thread.

Time Magazine Names Elon Musk “Person of the Year”

The way of doing it was quite unusual. It all started with a publication that replicated a few words from United States Senator Bernie Sanders against the two richest people in the country (and the world): Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. Upon being mentioned, Musk called Sanders “grumpy” and shared the senator’s popular meme with an edit that made him look like Doctor Eggman .

A few hours later, Elon Musk came back on the thread to announce that Sonic the Hedgehog would be coming to all Tesla cars . With this, it is very likely that this decision was already planned long before and only the popularity of the thread was used to break the news to the public.

Despite the announcement, not much more information was revealed. For example, it is not known when the title would be available.

Is it possible to play Sonic the Hedgehog on a moving Tesla?

That Elon Musk spoke of the addition of Sonic the Hedgehog only represents a continuation of what his autonomous vehicles already offered. For example, the infotainment system already had Sky Force Reloaded , The Battle of Polytopia , Cat Quest , Solitaire , among others.

With this, it is worth remembering that the level of autonomy of the Tesla still demands that the driver be attentive to what is happening on the road. Until recently, the system itself prohibited the ability to open a game while on the move , but a recent update that made it possible to do this opened a few discussions about the possible dangers.

Currently, every time a moving game is opened, the system demands to press a button that forces the user to inform that it is the passenger. However, it is no problem for the driver to press it and play by himself .
