NEW YORK — With the good weather comes new activities to break the routine, and one of them allows you to travel to different places on part of the east coast of the country.

This is due to Amtrak announcing the upcoming return of its seasonal train service, which will take passengers on weekends on a 4-hour trip that begins in New York and ends in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

This special summer service, which will begin on Memorial Day weekend and run on weekends throughout the summer months, is known as Berkshire Circular and Amtrak runs it in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT).

The Berkshire Flyer will feature a Friday afternoon departure from Penn Station in New York City to Pittsfield, MA, via Albany-Rensselaer, NY, and will offer a Sunday afternoon round trip. Each train will make several stops at the station.

The train will make all intermediate station stops including Yonkers, NY, Croton-Harmon, NY, Poughkeepsie, NY, Rhinecliff, NY, Hudson, NY and Albany-Rensselaer Station.
