The men arrested after the intense police chase captured on video and which took place Wednesday afternoon in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties were identified on Thursday and the charges against them have been announced.
Authorities identified them as Edward Foster and Matthew Geimer Jr., both 22 years old. According to Broward police, they face charges of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, aggravated flight and escape.
Both men are currently being held at Broward County Main Jail.
The incident began with an armed robbery around noon in the area of 128th Street and North Bayshore Drive. No one was injured in the robbery and the suspects fled in a white Lexus, police said.
The Lexus was seen in Opa-locka and North Miami Police Detectives requested assistance from other agencies to surround the car and apprehend the suspects.
Amid the manhunt that spanned three South Florida counties, the men pulled over on a highway and attempted to hijack the car of a person driving behind them, but the assailant allegedly couldn’t get to the car so they resumed their flight.
Then, in a second attempt, one of the fleeing men exited the vehicle and, at gunpoint, pulled the driver of a white Tesla out of the car, who got out with his hands up. air and left his vehicle with the assailant.

Authorities managed to intercept the two fleeing cars and began a ground pursuit. One of the fugitives crossed a canal and entered a residential area of Tamarac, where authorities began searching for him with the help of the canine squad and dozens of officers.
In footage from the Telemundo 51 helicopter, it was possible to see how the man ran out of the vehicle and drove into a residential area while several uniformed officers followed him.
One of the men hid in a blue house surrounded by armed police and eventually surrendered with his hands up to find himself in the custody of the authorities.
After nearly an hour of high-speed pursuit through the streets of three South Florida counties, authorities were able to arrest two men who are currently in police custody and whose identities are unknown at this time.
