The vicinity of the Capitol in Washington, are blocked with a strong police presence. The reason is that there is “an external security threat”, as reported by the police, without offering further details.
“Due to an external security threat, all US Capitol buildings are not allowed in or out at this time,” said the message asking people inside the building to stay “away from windows and doors.”

According to preliminary information, a car crashed into one of the security perimeter protection fences and two officers were injured.
“There is a suspect in custody. Both officers were injured. All three were taken to the hospital,” the Capitol Police Department reported on Twitter. It is also pointed out that there may be a shooting in the northern part of the building.
The Capitol was the protagonist on January 6, when a large group of protesters in support of Donald Trump stormed the building causing terrible chaos. There were several deaths.
