Orlando Florida. – Brightline will perform maximum speed tests (at 125 miles per hour) starting this Wednesday.
Testing will take place between Orlando International Airport and Cocoa City. Testing will take place along the new 35-mile rail corridor parallel to the Beachline Highway/SR 528 in Orange and Brevard counties.
The rail corridor is fenced and there are no public level crossings, so testing will not affect motorists.
The tests will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Additionally, current Brightline tests have been conducted along the Cocoa South Corridor in West Palm Beach, reaching speeds of up to 110 mph.
Brightline serves Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, with stations in Aventura and Boca Raton opening in late 2022, and aims to connect central Florida to the downstate in 2023.
