Police discovered the body of a person inside a vehicle that caught fire Tuesday morning in Pompano Beach, police confirmed.
Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said the fire started around 6:30 a.m. in the 200 block of 32nd Yard in NW Pompano Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) officers and Pompano Beach Fire Department responded to the area and found a Mercedes Benz SUV engulfed in flames.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and found the body inside, BSO said. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
Investigators have not released details of the fire at this time. The state fire marshal’s office is investigating the incident.
