The anime of “blue lock“is having a stark impact on the overall success of the game, it is a reality as it continues to be that the Japanese do not forget the great performances of their players in Qatar’s world past. Out of nowhere, the fever football has returned to Japan, and there is no clearer example than the fact that “Blue Lock” was the best-selling manga in the country for 3 consecutive months.
Blue Lock’s manga is still the king of sales in Japan
To keep everything in a more visual way, before commenting on anything else I leave you with the sales chart shared by WSJ_Manga compared to last February:
And now I’m going to comment on four little things that I find interesting for the occasion:
- First of all, it must be said that in this case Blue Lock was the only manga that in the last month of February managed to exceed one million copies sold. Its performance fell compared to January, but also the rest of the works on the market.
- On the other hand, I find the presence of Bocchi the Rock!, who since the creation of his anime is on cloud nine. If Blue Lock has become an absolute reference thanks to its television adaptation, with Bocchi the Rock! he went straight from an absolute unknown to one of the current kings of slice-of-life comedy.
- Likewise, I think it’s time to talk about Demons of the Shadow Realm. Because? Well, because it’s the new work of the author of Fullmetal Alchemist, which has gradually ramped up in recent months to consolidate itself in the top 10 of national sales. Of course, this is something to watch closely.
In general, I think that today it is impossible to say something negative about “Blue Lock”. From nowhere I even have addicted friends who don’t usually watch anime, and that is that ultimately football is what you get in a country like Spain. Obviously, not just any football will do, but if “Blue Lock” does anything right, it’s adapting the most epic shonen form to the ball perfectly, and that’s not easy to realize.
