Three people were shot dead, one of them possibly dead, on Saturday at a West Hills shopping mall.
The shooting was reported at 3:46 p.m. at the Fallbrook Avenue and Vanowen Street mall, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer J. Chaves.
One victim was reportedly unconscious and not breathing and two were awake and breathing, Chaves said.
Soon after, investigators requested a canopy, often indicative of a death, he said.
The suspect “may be known to the victims,” Chaves said. It was unclear if the shooting was gang-related.
A search for the suspect was underway.
