he representative of the United Nations (UN) in Honduras, Alice Shackelford, expressed her condolences and solidarity with the families of the five Hondurans murdered in Texas, United States.
“Terrible news and of much pain for Honduras! Violence transcends borders and must stop in all its forms. We need peace! Our condolences and solidarity on behalf of @ONUHonduras with the affected families,” Shackelford wrote on her Twitter account.
The UN representative retweeted the publication posted by Foreign Minister Enrique Reina where he showed his condolences and instructed the consulate to contact the US authorities to be aware of the repatriation process of the Hondurans.
He also tagged the accounts of Reina and the Honduran Foreign Ministry in his post.
Who are the victims?
EL HERALDO confirmed through the Association of Hondurans in San Antonio that the victims are Sonia Argentina Guzman and her eight year old son Daniel Guzman.
It was also learned that the other deceased are Julissa Molina Rivera and José Jonathan Cáceres and another woman identified as Diana Velázquez Alvarado.
According to reports, the compatriots were living legally in the United States and a few weeks ago, a group of the family had moved to the area where the massacre occurred.
According to the latest reports, the five people were victims of a Mexican man, identified as Francisco Oropeza, who killed them without saying a word in their home because the family asked him not to shoot in the air.
The suspect is a fugitive from justice and the U.S. authorities have offered a five million dollar reward for information leading to his whereabouts and capture.
