Now that many companies are cutting staff in the United States, Alaska Airlines plans to hire more than 3,500 employees in 2023 in different positions.
Alaska Airlines has announced plans to hire more than 3,500 new employees this year in a variety of roles and functions.

The airline argues that as it continues to grow and add dozens of new planes to its fleet, it requires thousands of people to join its workforce.

Since the end of the previous year and into the beginning of 2023, many companies have been getting rid of part of their equipment, however, Alaska Airlines is now asking for everything from maintenance technicians to contact center agents, flight attendants and pilots, agents of customer service and software engineers.
Most of the new jobs are at hubs in Seattle and Portland, as well as locations across the West Coast, and the airline notes that benefits like the ability to work from home and flexible hours are also available to some roles.

Many of the positions do not require prior airline experience, so it may be a good time to start a new career. Openings will be posted on careers.alaskaair.com throughout the year.

“This is an exciting time to join our team and we can’t wait to welcome more great people to Alaska,” said Andy Schneider, Alaska Airlines senior vice president of people.

“We offer a wide variety of positions and pride ourselves on nurturing talent and providing opportunities to learn new skills and move into new and challenging roles. Join our winning team!” added Schneider.
