Year 2019. Tokyo megalopolis. Kaneda, leader of a gang of juvenile delinquents, rides his motorbike against rival gangs through a devastated city. One night, his friend Tetsuo is seriously injured after colliding head-on with a strange boy born of human experimentation. Instantly, the military enter the scene, taking Tetsuo with them.
Determined to free his friend, Kaneda infiltrates the military research center where he is being held. But then a new power has already awakened in Tetsuo, who begins to be consumed by madness… Meanwhile, one of the laboratory’s experimental subjects announces the awakening of the greatest of secrets… the advent of Akira.
