There are a lot of albums that fall through. After months of work, recordings and conversations, something clicked in the artist’s head and he decided to wipe the slate clean. The last to do so? Nothing more and nothing less than our native pop princess: Aitana. The Spanish star had been working on his third studio album for years, but a series of events and a trip to Los Angeles decided him to make a 180 degree turn in his sound, betting on house music inspired by the 90s.

Although Aitana has assured that she does not rule out releasing some of the songs she wrote for this third album in the future, they will remain in a drawer for now. The sound: urban and without ballads
If for Alpha he is betting on a club sound, inspired by those songs that made us dance in the 90s and 2000s, he was first going to bet on more urban music. Of course, without straying from the pop that gave him so much joy.
“The new album will go in this direction: more urban and more electronic, but still in pop, that’s what I like and what I know how to do”, assured the singer in an interview for Global Show.
In addition, for his tour of Latin America in 2022, the artist assured that he wanted to leave behind the sound of the beginning of the millennium: “The album we are preparing leaves behind this sound of the two thousand and focuses a little more on the reggaeton rhythm”. It looks like he’s found inspiration in this decade in recent months. What he didn’t know then was that he had to watch house and not pop.
But the thing did not stop there. Aitana assured in a question and answer in which she played on Twitter that this album was not going to have ballads: “Would you like a ballad on the new album? I don’t feel like it fits the concept that much. The next record, after the third, may just be ballads. What do you think?”

In September 2021, Aitana attended the Global Show with Tony Aguilar to talk about the launch of Berlin. At that time the artist admitted to us that his album was quite advanced: “A lot of songs on the album are already recorded. I’ve been preparing this album for the whole year of 2021, since before releasing 11 reasons. Some songs are missing, but there are a lot of recorded ones.”
A year and a half later, the truth is that Aitana completely changed her mind and decided to go for another sound. Come on, early songs like Berlin and Quieres could have been part of this new musical era. “I am very happy to start this new release of the album with Berlin”he told us in 2021.
