A man remains locked up in a residence in Van Nuys after authorities tried to serve him with a search warrant.
The incident began around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 6600 block of Gaviota Avenue, the LAPD reported. Apparently the man refuses to leave the house and is armed.
According to authorities, he is on probation and is considered a fugitive.
Authorities evicted residents of nearby homes as a precaution. They also closed Vanowen Avenue, in both directions between Gloria and Woodman Avenues.
