This video shows how an Artificial Intelligence recognizes the movements of the dancer to represent them on an anime character
There Artificial intelligence reached levels which, artistically, it’s starting to get pretty scary. Beyond the fact that there are those who are not at all happy with certain AIs created by stealing art pieces from real artists, which I completely understand, it seems to me equally understandable that they could be considered as impressive all the progress. Today I met a dancer who showed how an AI perfectly captured her movements.
An anime character created with AI perfectly emulates the movements of a dancer
Then I leave you with the tweet from the hand of @ji10mewhich provides a video showing how an anime character created by AI is able to recognize and imitate every movement of the royal dancer:
From what I have been able to glean from the gigantic conversation this video has generated on Twitter, I I would highlight the following points:
- To begin with, the person who shared the video assures that despite the fact that these types of AI work much better today than they did some time ago, the truth is that you still have to do so many manual corrections which means that using AI as such is still not really recommended for creating an animation like this.
- On the other hand, I also saw someone claiming to be animator for 30 years who said that if there comes a time when AIs are really reliable for this type of work, would be happy if these were used to compensate for the lack of manpower that the animation sector sometimes suffers.
- Of course, it’s no secret that the anime industry has completely stifling working hours for its workers, so if life could be made easier for these with add-ons like this kind of AI, surely more than one would appreciate it (as long as it doesn’t end up replacing the artist as such) .
I am sure that The subject of Artificial Intelligence in the art world will continue to generate a lot of talk, especially since not everyone who uses it will do so with the best intentions in mind.. However, just as an experiment, it seems like a really interesting avenue to explore, so at least for my part, I will continue to take a look at it from time to time, to see what surprises this area.
