The Chinese Honor brand has announced the new smartphone “V40 5G” overseas.

The V40 5G will be the first smartphone since the Honor brand was sold by Huawei in China. As the name implies, this is a terminal that supports 5G communication.

The on-board 6.72 inch / 120Hz drive curve display achieves a brightness of 800 nits. The feature is that it is combined with Taiwan MediaTek’s processor “Dimensity 1000+”.

Other specs include 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, with a 50MP main + 8MP super wide angle + 2MP macro camera and a 16MP front camera. The battery capacity is 4000mAh, and it supports high-speed charging at 66W.

The price of the V40 5G for China is 3599 yuan (about 58,000 yen) for the 128GB storage model and 3999 yuan (about 64,000 yen) for the 256GB storage model. At this time, no plans have been announced for launching in regions other than China.

So far, Huawei has introduced the “V brand” terminals introduced for China as the “View” brand for overseas markets. This smartphone is also expected to be launched outside China as “View 40 5G”. At that time, it seems that it will be important to see if it can support Google services and Play Store.
