Phil Spencer gets ‘welcome’ from Candy Crush King; new era of Xbox on smartphones

Phil Spencer and the Xbox leadership team wasted no time following Microsoft’s big deal with Activision Blizzard. Shortly after the Xbox owner acquired the mega-publisher our dear Phil paid a visit to King Games – the team behind the mobile hit Candy Crush.

As posted on Twitter, King rolled out the red carpet and gave Xbox a “sweet welcome to the Kingdom” this week. Here are some of the photos from that visit – taken from King’s offices in London and Stockholm:

The King’s acquisition specifically is perhaps going unnoticed – at least in Xbox circles. The team is absolutely huge in the mobile space; an area where Microsoft has been keen to expand its gaming business in the coming years. They will be key to the company triumphing in this market.

Anyway, we hope Phil and the rest of the team enjoyed their visit – and we hope there were some productive conversations about the future of Xbox and Activision Blizzard King. The next meetings will be with Blizzard and Activsion.
