Valheim It’s definitely proven to be a hit since making the jump from PC to Xbox Game Pass earlier this month, and the game got a pretty big patch this week, with some key improvements.

In the video above, you can see what the game looks like on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S when using the two native options available to you: fidelity mode (30FPS) and performance mode (60FPS), but starting with the new. patch, there is now also a “balanced modewhich targets 40FPS at higher fidelity than Performance mode.

“Added ‘Balanced Mode’ graphics setting with 40 FPS and 1440p on Series X and 900p on Series S (this will only appear as an option if you have a display that supports 40 FPS)”

On the other hand, the latest Valheim update brings a major fix to height maps, which were unbalanced on PC and Xbox. The downside is that some players may find that their buildings will collapse.

Here’s a bit more about it, with some additional details:

This patch should fix an issue where Xbox players and PC players had different elevation maps, which could make a player appear to be flying through the air or walking underground. Unfortunately, if an Xbox player has built in an area like this, this change will cause buildings to collapse. We sincerely apologize for this, but it was important to make this change now to avoid further issues later.

Another thing we are working on is a fix to the issue where Xbox worlds would reset to day 1 after reaching a certain size. We’ve identified the issue and believe we’ve found a fix, which should appear in the next patch. For now, we apologize and thank you for your patience.”

The team says that if you’re having issues with the world, you can use the “Manage Savegames” button to roll back to a previous version. To be retained as a last resort!
