Game news Xbox: Backward compatible games playable on xCloud
Since 2015, the backward compatibility of Xbox games has been one of the spearheads of Microsoft’s communication. This is how a player with an Xbox Series can now enjoy his games dating from the Xbox or Xbox 360.
Today, the Redmond firm announces that this backward compatibility is venturing into the xCloud program, accessible to players who have subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. For now, Microsoft announces that 16 games from the Xbox and Xbox 360 generations can be launched on android devices. However, we are told that other titles will arrive soon, and that the feature has been requested for a while. Backups should work smoothly between media, as should online modes. Craig Duncan, studio director, also discusses the subject in an interview published on the official Xbox website :
It’s always difficult to move from generation to generation, platform to platform, being able to relaunch the games you love is very important. Before, you would have had to take out an old console, find all the cables and hope that the disc still works. Making the history of video games accessible to everyone with just one click is incredible! Playing your favorite titles on the device of your choice, whether on console, PC or mobile, is an extraordinary promise. The freedom of choice lets you play anywhere, and as cloud gaming becomes more democratic, I think some will be playing a Rare game this way for the first time.
