With the advent of new consoles, we gamers everywhere often quickly forget about older technology (before inevitably feeling nostalgic for it years later). The base Xbox One is definitely in “forgotten” territory in its lifetime right now, at least for us, but we’re occasionally reminded that new games son always go ahead, and developers always you need to test and optimize for console.
Enter: Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. This month’s first Game Pass hit is cross-generational play, and it’s producing some exciting results across the board. While we’ve already taken a look at gameplay on current-gen systems here at PX HQ, the team at Digital Foundry took a look at all versions, including the older Xbox One edition of the game.
Let’s just say the visuals leave something to be desired on console. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty on Xbox One works on 648p per DF test, so here we are looking at a resolution lower than 720p. The texture work is very low resolution too, and in general it is difficult to distinguish a lot of details. We’ll leave the timestamp of that specific discussion below.

Fortunately, the performance of the game is much better, with a solid enough 30FPS on Xbox One. Por supuesto, no hay un modo de alto rendimiento, pero la velocidad de fotogramas podría podría sido mucho peor, y probablee lo habría sido si Team Ninja empujara más les images.
In all honesty, no. in reality You know what we expected to see here, but every once in a while you’re reminded of how far we’ve come with Xbox Series X|S; Series X in particular. 60 frames per second is cool, huh?
