Owners of a Wii U and/or a console from the 3DS range, beware. From the end of March, access to the Nintendo eShop will be officially disabled on these two machines.
Although there are more and more rumors about the future of Nintendo, the time has come to remember that a page from the manufacturer’s past will soon be turned. Indeed, as might have been announced a moment ago now, the doors of the eShop will soon close on Wii U and 3DS. Now is the time to check if you have one of these consoles.
The eShop will soon disappear on Nintendo Wii U and 3DS
you have more precisely until March 27, 2023 at 2 a.m. (French time) to make your latest game purchases on these consoles. After this date, the eShop will no longer be officially available. If you ever have an unused balance on either of these machines, Nintendo invites you to use them today or Merge your Wallet with the Nintendo Switch Wallet before March 2024 so you can keep your amount in the future.
Of course, the publisher still wishes to remind you that closing the eShop will not prevent users from continuing to access all previously purchased content. Thus, games in the form of DLC can be (re)downloaded at any time after this date. Additionally, the 3DS and Wii U will continue to receive software updates and support online play features.
